Spotie turns 1 !!
From the day we adopted Spotie (30th of Jan 2018) we had always been counting on 2nd of every month waiting for 2nd October 2018 to arrive so we could celebrate Spotie's birthday. It was a special day for us . Spotie doesn't know what it means but to us it is the day When an Angel came to us in disguise . Though it took time for us to understand that she is meant for us ,meant to be a part of our family , we are happy to have her . It's always better late than never .
So our super friendly pup has many friends around the neighborhood including humans . The neighborhood kids always pet her when she goes out for her walks . The last week of September we told the kids about Spotie's upcoming birthday . The kids got too excited that they asked every day about her birthday . Whether she would cut a cake or if she would be wearing new clothes ? We decided to have a birthday party for Spotie and all these kids would be invited . We bought her a customized collar with her name on it from Heads up for tail . We bought her a few toys too from Heads up for tails store in Koramangala , Bangalore the quality of products they have is very good . Especially the chew toys Spotie is trying hard to destroy them but she has not yet succeeded .
We invited the kids to join us for Spotie's birthday party on 2nd October at 6:30 pm. Finally the day arrived, we had been waiting from the last 7 months . We were celebrating Spotie's birthday today . All excited I baked a carrot peanut butter cheese cake for her . I know Spotie likes Carrots and Cheese but peanut butter ? My daughter whom I call "Googlepedia "of dogs ( cause she keeps checking the internet for each and every thing about dogs do's & don't's in food, health, almost every other thing) she told me the dogs love for peanut butter is immense and so I bought a big jar of peanut butter which is not liked by anyone in our house . While I baked the cake , my daughter took some peanut butter for Spotie . She fed peanut butter to Spotie . She doesn't like it tries to avoid her by running about every where turning away her face when peanut butter is offered. I knew it my cake would be a waste. The cake was exclusively for her and hoped she would like it .
That day our neighborhood kids were restless and excited they gave a visit to Spotie in the afternoon screaming and shouting Happy birthday Spotie ( which of course Spotie didn't understand nor did she react to it ). She must have been disturbed in her precious nap time . It was their excitement and curiosity as well . Spotie's lunch had lots of chicken today with some green peas, carrots and beans sauteed in butter. She did like it . We bought some Blackforest pastry ,chips , cookies and chocolates for the kids . And of course birthday party hats , no birthday party is complete without these . Spotie tried wearing it but her destructive nature didn't allow her to wear one .
The guest arrived half an hour early all screaming shouting happy at the thought of celebrating Spotie's birthday, curious too ! There she was our Spotie wearing a sky blue leather collar with her name on it with stone engraved alphabets . I must say she looked very cute with that sparkly collar . She did wear a red coloured T-shirt too . She seemed happy though she didn't know what was happening around her . Excited to see so many kids around her she tried to stay calm with a ha
The cake was cut , we ( my daughter Zoe and I ) held on her two legs and tried cutting the cake with a knife held in her paw, she did not want to stand there and do all the antics with the kids shouting their lungs out "Happie birthday to Spotieee" , it was quite visible she wanted to run out of the house couldn't stand the shouts and screams , but stayed there patiently pretending to be happy . So we cut a piece of the cake I had baked, fed her , she just licked off the cream cheese and left the remaining . She was more interested in looking at the kids eat .
All the kids ate the Blackforest pastry and enjoyed the party , now that the cake was cut, Spotie didn't want to come inside the house not until all the chaos was cleared ( not until the kids left ) . This was such a happening day . We enjoyed celebrating Spotie's birthday and I know Spotie too had a blast that day . She enjoyed all the attention she got from every one on her birthday making it a memory for us and her little friends . We will always cherish the moments in our life . Truly a blessing from the Almighty ! May Spotie be blessed with all the happiness.
